Sosian Nairobi, Kenya

Is situated right along the equator, on the  eastern coast of the African continent. While much of northeastern Kenya is a flat, bush-covered plain, the remainder of the country encompasses pristine beaches, scenic highlands and lake regions, the Great Rift Valley, and the magnificent Mount Kenya. As the birthplace of Safari (Swahili for a journey), It is still the primary focus of all adventure travel in Africa. It is one of the finest – and  undoubtedly the most famous – safari destinations in the world.

Located on the edge of the rich agricultural region of the Central Highlands, Nairobi is the capital city of Kenya, the most developed country in East Africa. It is the largest city between Cairo, Egypt,in north Africa, and Johannesburg, South Africa. Today, it’s Kenya’s skyscraper-safari capital, juxtaposing the rare black rhino against a modern cityscape in Nairobi National Park, and protecting its once-poached elephants and giraffes in city  wildlife centers. The city has a cosmopolitan flair that combines African, Asian, European, and Middle Eastern cultures.

Best time to visit

Although Kenya’s  varied environments experience a wide variety of climate conditions, the temperature remains comfortably warm year-round. Much  of Kenya experiences heavy rainfall from March to May and, to a lesser extent, from  October to December. The best time for most outdoor activities (including safari and  mountain climbing) is during the dry season (June-September).

Sosian offers a huge range of activities including walking, horse-riding, camel safaris, game-drives, night-drives, fishing, archery, tennis and swimming in the  waterfalls behind the lodge. Get a taste of ranch life by getting involved in unique thrills such as cattle  dipping.
